This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals. Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC) intends to solicit a proposal and enter into a contract with Menssana Research Inc Newark NJ. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) 1 per FAR 6.302-1(c). The NAICS code for this action is 541380. This requirement will be procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12 Commercial Services. NMRC requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Sysytems For Award Management (SAM). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in SAM. For additional information and to register in SAM, please access the following website: http://www.sam.gov/. In order to register with SAM and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all offerors must have a DUN & Bradstreet Number. A Dun & Bradstreet number may be acquired free of charge by contacting Dun & Bradstreet online at https://www.dnb.com/products/eupdate/requestOptions.html or by phone at (800) 333-0505 To Process breath exhalate in swine for the Pulmonary Oxygen Toxicity Study 1. Traning of research staff in the capture of breath VOC's 2. 180 set of sorbent traps for the capture of breath and air samples. 3. 180 sets of disposable plastics (filters, mouthpiece, and air samples) 4. Use of a Breath Collection Apparatus (BCA) and Breath Reservior for the course of the study. 5. Shipping of all samples back to the breath research laboratory 6. Analysis of breath and air samples by GCxGC-TOFMS 7. Interpretation and reporting of all samples and development of a predictive algorithm for oxygen toxicity.
