P--Salvage Services in Support of the Director of Ocean Engineering, Supervisor of Salvage and Diving

The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to issue a bridge extension to the existing contract with Crowley Marine Services, Inc. to continue providing critical salvage and ocean engineering support services. These services include salvage operations, salvage-related towing, harbor clearance, point-to-point towing, and other ocean engineering tasks to assist the Director of Ocean Engineering and the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving. This extension is set to begin on December 13, 2011, and will remain in effect for up to three months or until a successor contract is awarded, whichever happens first. This interim measure comes as the Navy evaluates proposals submitted under a competitive solicitation for follow-on salvage services, which closed on March 9, 2010. The bridge extension ensures continuity of essential salvage and towing operations while the new contract award process is finalized. Crowley Marine Services, based in Seattle, Washington, will maintain its role during this transition period, supporting Navy salvage requirements without interruption.
