Pacific Biological Station – Brandon Island Infrastructure Project

The project involves marine infrastructure repairs on Brandon Island, located 0.45 km south of the Pacific Biological Station and the CCG Base in Nanaimo, British Columbia. The scope requires the complete replacement of the existing shore anchor with a new system, refloating and securely reinstalling the current concrete float using approved marine techniques, and installing four new catwalks as specified. Additionally, a new timber float and four billets must be supplied and installed with proper alignment and flotation. All existing structures located south of the main float—including the concrete float and four catwalks—must be removed and disposed of at approved facilities. The work demands full provision of labor, materials, equipment, and transportation by the contractor. The contract is issued by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans under the Government of Canada with solicitation number 30008027, posted on June 29, 2026, and with responses due by July 13, 2026. An optional site visit is available to qualified bidders during Phase 2 of the tender process to assist with understanding site conditions.
