The USDA Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Research Station intends to negotiate to one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures to acquire services for fire remote-sensing data collection during the Sycan Prescribed Fire utilizing a Contractor-owned, airborne Fire Mapper 2.0 sensor. The Government believes the only one responsible source is capable of satisfying requirement is Kolob Canyon Air Services, 943 S. Main Street, Suite 6, Cedar City, UT 84720, who is the known sole owner of a Fire Mapper 2.0 sensor. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. The estimated dollar value is $30,000.00. This is not a request for competitive quotes, but serves as procurement notice to fulfill public posting requirements in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1). This requirement is unrestricted and the NAICS code 481211 and PSC AB21 apply. Responsible firms believing they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. However, they must provide supporting evidence they can furnish the requested items at a cost that will not exceed the total estimated transaction cost. All responses shall be considered for future actions. The Government intends to make award, without delay for this requirement.
