This notice is a sources sought announcement issued by the Department of Defense through Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, for the purpose of conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of supplying the FXC Corporation DM-500 Mechanical Dereefer and associated accessories, specifically 12 units of the DM-500 (PN 811-00289-4), two cocking tools (PN 811-00350), and two arming cables (PN 411-00223). The requirement is restricted solely to this brand-name product due to its critical interoperability with existing aerial delivery parachute systems, and no alternatives are permitted. Respondents must provide a capability statement containing detailed company information including CAGE code and SAM Unique Entity ID, point of contact details, business size and socioeconomic status such as small business, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, or WOSB, and verifiable proof of authorization from FXC Corporation as an official distributor or reseller. Additionally, proposed lead times for delivery must be included, as the Government seeks to evaluate the availability and responsiveness of qualified suppliers. This is not a formal solicitation, and no contract award is guaranteed or implied by submission. Submissions are limited to electronic response via email to SrA Maximos Ramirez at maximos.ramirez@us.af.mil, with a copy to 1st Lt Nasir Smith at nasir.smith.1@us.af.mil, and must use the specified subject line format by the deadline of May 4th, 2026, at 8:00 AM EST. The place of performance is Fort Moore, Georgia, and while no contract value, pricing, or payment terms are provided, the notice indicates that the eventual award will likely follow a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable basis given the sole-source justification and technical specificity of the requirement. The DM-500 is a reusable, non-pyrotechnic reefing line cutter designed for use in T-11 and T-11R parachute systems, with operational parameters including a precise 2-second delay (±20%), water resistance to 5 meters, function across extreme temperatures, and a 100-cycle service life. Authorization for use is supported by Air Force exception TO 13C5-31-2 and NAVAIR approval, and all components are marked with identifying part numbers for traceability. No formal contract
