The General Services Administration is seeking to lease parking space in Newark, New Jersey, within the delineated area bounded by Green Street, McCarter Highway, Chestnut Street, and Mayor Kenneth A Gibson Boulevard. The requirement includes 48 surface parking spaces, with 12 designated as reserved, and the lease term is for a full ten years, with an initial firm period of five years and an option to extend for another five years. The parking facilities must provide 24/7 access, security features such as fencing, electric or key card access, and reserved signage for the designated spaces. Preference is given to electronically operated vehicle gates and parking lot attendants during business hours, and the possibility exists to split the parking requirement across multiple lots. The government currently occupies 45 reserved parking spaces in Newark and is open to considering alternative options that could be more cost-effective, factoring in relocation costs and infrastructure requirements. All proposals should be directed to Alexander Litvak, Leasing Specialist, via email, and the solicitation details are available on SAM.gov. The U.S. Government currently occupies 45 secured and reserved parking spaces in Newark, New Jersey. The Government is considering alternative space for the total requirement of 48 secured and reserved parking spaces if economically advantageous. In making this determination, the Government will consider, among other things, the availability of alternative space that potentially can satisfy the Government’s requirements, as well as costs likely to be incurred through relocating, such as physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements and telecommunication infrastructure, and non-productive agency downtime.
