PATH program assessment (BOOM BPA)

The Food and Drug Administration is seeking to evaluate the operational effectiveness of the PATH Study Team, a joint initiative between the Center for Tobacco Products and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, with the goal of enhancing performance through process optimization and resource realignment. This assessment will identify redundancies in workflow, eliminate nonessential tasks, and clarify the distinct roles and responsibilities of all team members within the PATH Study and the CTP PATH Branch, ensuring alignment with CTP’s current strategic vision. The evaluation will also examine coordination gaps between the PATH Study and other CTP functions, including collaboration with TRS entities, budgeting processes, data sharing, and integration with other internal data sources to improve efficiency and reduce duplication. The outcome of this assessment will be a clear framework of recommended improvements, including redefined roles, streamlined processes, and enhanced interdepartmental coordination mechanisms. The purpose is not to expand scope or resources but to achieve higher operational performance using existing capacity.
