Folkestone and Hythe District Council, acting on behalf of itself, Dover District Council, and Thanet District Council, is seeking a single supplier to provide pest control services across East Kent. This joint procurement will utilize a one-stage open procedure to select one provider who will then be awarded separate individual contracts by each of the three councils. The contract is scheduled to begin on January 4, 2027, for an initial three-year term, with the possibility of two additional 12-month extensions based on satisfactory performance. The total estimated value for the full five-year term is approximately 600,000 GBP excluding VAT, with the initial three-year term estimated at 321,000 GBP excluding VAT. The selected supplier must be a member of the British Pest Control Association or a similar professional body and is required to maintain rigorous quality assurance and health and safety systems. Key deliverables include the management of emergency call-outs, out-of-hours services, and the reporting of escalated infestations or public health risks. Award decisions will be based on a weighted evaluation: 60 percent on pricing for standard and discounted rates, and 40 percent on quality factors including best practice, cost control, operations, complaints procedures, and added value. Tenders must be submitted electronically via the Kent Business Portal by November 17, 2026. The authority also reserves the right to vary or terminate the contract early in the event of Local Government Reorganisation.
