Phase IV of the Office Workstations & Furniture Relocation and Consolidation at the IRS Kansas City Campus

The IRS Procurement, Southern Region / Midstates Section plans to award a sole source purchase order to Multi Systems Installation, Inc. (MSI) for Phase IV of the Office Workstations & Furniture Relocation and Consolidation Services at the IRS Kansas City facility. This procurement will be conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13.106-1(b) due to the purchase amount being below the simplified acquisition threshold. MSI is uniquely qualified for this work as they were the original installer of all equipment and furniture in the facility and are responsible for warranty repairs on the systems furniture. Additionally, MSI employees possess the necessary security clearances and badges to access the facility unescorted, which is a critical requirement for this project. Because of MSI’s unique qualifications and security clearance, no other contractors are deemed acceptable, justifying the sole source award under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1. The contract relates to relocation and consolidation efforts aimed at IRS Kansas City’s workspace.
