The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, through MTA Construction & Development, is seeking proposals from qualified Project Management Consultants to oversee the installation of a fixed fire suppression system at the Hugh L. Carey and Queens Midtown Tunnels. The project involves extending an existing fire suppression system at the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, which includes integrating new water supply, electrical feeds, and piping, and installing a completely new system at the Queens Midtown Tunnel where none currently exists. Additionally, structural repairs to the exhaust air ducts in both tunnels are part of the scope. The contract is fully capital-funded and is scheduled for a duration of 48 months. Interested vendors must register with the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit their proposals by December 10, 2025. The pre-bid conference will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams on November 12, 2025. The project emphasizes diversity with subcontracting goals of 15% for minority-owned and women-owned businesses, and 6% for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. Bid documents are available at no cost, and all submissions should be directed to the NYCT Bid Reception Desk. The project covers all counties within New York State, and the solicitation is managed by NYC Transit.
