Project Overview
The project will require the selected contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and construction services necessary for the design and construction of the project: 636A8-23-200, Update 9W Patient Safety Features as defined by the Statement of Work (SOW), Plans, and Specifications.
The Construction solicitation and evaluation process shall be conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (RFO) Subpart 15.103-2 (Lowest Price Technically Acceptable). The issued Request for Proposal (RFP) shall set forth the requirements for responding to solicitation, as well as all technical evaluation factors and sub-factors.
At the closing date of the solicitation, the Government shall evaluate responsive proposals received in accordance with the Evaluation Process.
Background
This project remodels approximately 7,800 square feet of the inpatient mental health ward at the Iowa City VA Medical Center (9th Floor-West of Building 1). The objective of this project is to correct known environmental patient safety deficiencies across ward to comply with latest VA Mental Health Environment of Care Checklist (MHEOCC) standards, improve unit layout and functionality, and enhance therapeutic environment. Anticipated Period of Performance
The contract Period of Performance for construction is 427 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The time stated for completion includes final cleanup of the premises, punch list, and closeout documents.
