Prairie Pride Community Centre (PPCC) Gym Disconnection & New Storage Building Construction

The Village of Ceylon is soliciting bids for a two-part construction project involving the physical separation of the Prairie Pride Community Centre gym from the former Ceylon School and the construction of a new municipal storage building. The first component requires the complete demolition of a 14-foot uninsulated enclosed walkway connecting the two buildings, followed by restoration and weatherproofing of the school’s exterior walls, including the application of tin siding where necessary. The school building will remain intact with no shared utilities between it and the gym, ensuring independent operation. The second component involves building a 32 ft by 24 ft uninsulated storage structure with 8-ft high walls, a prepared foundation, tin siding and roofing, a standard entry door, an overhead door, passive ventilation, and a cement walkway linking the gym to the new building. All work must be completed by November 1, 2027, with the project schedule accounting for seasonal challenges such as frost, snow, rain, and restricted site access. Bidders must submit a completed Bid Form by 3:00 PM on August 7, 2026, and include proof of $2 million liability insurance, a WCB Letter of Good Standing, a site-specific safety plan, a detailed construction timeline, and documentation of all engineering and permitting expenses. Questions must be received by July 31, 2026, and any bids that are altered, incomplete, unsigned, conditional, or submitted late will be rejected.
