GIWW ? Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Algiers Lock, New Maintenance Building, Orleans Parish, Louisiana

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New Orleans District, plans to issue a solicitation for the construction of a new Maintenance Building at the Algiers Lock in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. The project involves building a new metal maintenance facility with a cast-in-place concrete foundation and includes selective demolition, structural excavation, pile driving, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems installation, as well as site work like pavement removal and replacement, waterline and sewer installation, and landscaping. This work aims to support lock operations and maintenance activities effectively. The estimated contract value is between $1 million and $5 million. The upcoming solicitation will be released as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) with a firm fixed price contract type and will be set aside exclusively for small businesses. The solicitation is expected to be posted around mid-May 2026, with bids due roughly 30 days later. All solicitation documents will be available electronically through the System for Award Management (SAM) website, and interested bidders must maintain active registration on SAM to be eligible for award. Amendments and updates will also be posted solely on SAM. Potential contractors are encouraged to monitor the site regularly and are advised that this notice does not obligate the government to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
