The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to negotiate a sole-source contract with COMPUSEARCH SOFTWARE SYSTEMS, INC. for maintenance of the PRISM software, which is proprietary to Compusearch. Under the Federal Acquisition Regulation allowance for sole-source procurement, this decision is based on Compusearch being the only authorized entity capable of providing maintenance and support for the PRISM software, as they hold exclusive rights to sell, distribute, and maintain it. The contract will be a firm fixed-price purchase order covering a six-month period, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months. Interested parties were invited to submit written responses demonstrating their capability to fulfill the requirement, though this notice did not constitute a request for quotation. Responses were due by noon on September 18, 2014, and were to be submitted via email to a designated SSA official, with no telephone inquiries accepted. The Government reserves sole discretion over whether to compete the contract and will not provide feedback on submissions. This procurement falls under the NAICS code 511210 and was managed by the SSA Office of Acquisition Grants in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking to 1) Identify experienced vendors capable of providing a commercial off-the-shelf printer toner optimizer software solution through pixel optimization technology that can be incorporated with SSA's existing infrastructure. 2) Identify industry best practices. Vendor responses must include a clear and definitive description of the vendor's product, system architecture, automation capabilities and must clearly state how their product provides the ability to meet the requirements. Vendors must also state any additional requirements needed to successfully operate the system within the Agency's environment.
