The Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for approximately 30-125 count cases of apples, 16- 35 pound cases of fresh celery, 4-45 pound cases of fresh cucumbers, 20-20 pound cases of fresh salad mix, 8-24 count cases of Iceberg lettuce, 20-20 pound cases of fresh green peppers, 10-25 pound cases of fresh tomatoes, 21-50 pound bags of fresh cabbage, 10-50 pound bags of fresh carrots, 20-50 pound bags of fresh onions, 14-40 pound cases of sweet potatoes, 50-50 pound bags of potatoes, 20-138 count cases of oranges, 10 cases of grapefruit, and 18 cases of bananas delivered weekly for the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Devens in Ayer, Massachusetts. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 311991 (size standards in number of employees 500). The Government contemplates a quarterly award resulting from the future solicitation. The contractor shall furnish the specified produce to FMC Devens on a weekly basis split between two deliveries. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The response date for this sources sought is September 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Faith-based and Community-based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
