Full Description

The intent of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to obtain the services of a qualified and experienced public accounting firm, licensed to practice public accountancy in the State of Texas, whose principal officers are independent certified public accountants. The selected firm will prepare the financial statements of the City of Eagle Pass and perform the City’s annual financial audit for the fiscal years ending September 30, 2026, 2027, and 2028, with the option to extend services for the subsequent fiscal years ending September 30, 2029, and 2030. The financial statement audit will determine whether: The financial statements present fairly the financial position, results of operations, and cash flows or changes in financial positions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The City has complied with the laws and regulations applicable to those transactions and events that may have a material effect on the financial statements. As part of the basic financial statements audit, the annual financial audit will also include obtaining an understanding of the City’s internal control and reporting any significant or material weaknesses relating to the internal control systems coming to the attention of the auditors. Transactions and records pertaining to federal and state programs will be tested for material compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations as part of the annual financial audit. All instances of noncompliance will be reported to the City.
