PULSE Annual Software Maintenance Agreement

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Bruel & Kjaer for the purchase of a PULSE Annual Software Maintenance and Support agreements. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is already in possession of the PULSE microphone array and data systems. The PULSE System, as provided by the annual software maintenance and support agreement(s), is the front-end of the microphone array. Together, the PULSE system and the microphone array, are used for source identification (NSID) purposes to develop engineering noise controls of various mining equipment. The Annual Software Maintenance agreement for the PULSE software system is only provided by the manufacturer, Bruel & Kjaer. As such, Bruel & Kjaer hold exclusive rights to this proprietary data / system. This contract action is for supplies / services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
