Purshase of Publications from Jane's Information Group

This is not a solicitation, but a notice of Contract Action. The US Naval War College has a requirement to purchase 56 publications from Jane's Information Group. The package consists of 23 subscriptions and 33 yearbooks. The purchase is considered a Sole Source to Jane's.Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Naval War College, Contracting Division, intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed price contract to Jane's Information Group. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C.2304(c) (1) and pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a) (2), the supplies or services needed by the agency are available from only one responsible source, or from only one or a limited number of responsible sources, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, full and open competition need not be provided for. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the government. This announcement is not a request for competitive quotations.
