Putah-Cache Arundo Eradication Project

The Putah-Cache Watershed Arundo Eradication Project, managed by the Yolo County Resource Conservation District, is focused on the removal and control of non-native invasive plant species, specifically Arundo donax and Tamarix parviflora, within riparian areas. The scope of work covers approximately 96 miles of waterways, including Putah, Cache, and Pleasant Creeks, as well as Westside tributaries such as Cottonwood, Willow, Union School, Dry, and Chickahominy Sloughs across Yolo and Solano Counties in California. To ensure long-term ecological stability, the project includes the revegetation of riparian habitats to assist in bank stabilization and prevent the recolonization of invasive weeds. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has extended Streambed Alteration Agreement Notification Number 1600-2019-0313-R2 pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code. This extension moves the agreement expiration date from April 20, 2025, to April 20, 2030. A Notice of Determination issued by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife confirms that the project will not have a significant environmental effect within its jurisdiction, and no additional mitigation measures or monitoring plans were adopted.
