DESCRIPTION: The VA MidSouth Health System, VISN 9 intends to negotiate a sole source interim contract with the following companies Medical Comfort; ED Medical; B & B Medical Services and Greene Medical to continue providing for the home delivery of oxygen to authorized VA patients for the VISN 9 Medical Centers until a long term contract is finalized. Currently the solicitation is under protest and a final decision must be reached before continuing with a new solicitation. It is anticipated that a new long term contract using FAR competitive procedures to establish a Firm Fixed Price contract will commence at the end of this interim contracting action. This procurement will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12, 13 and 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency. The NAICS code is 532291 and the Size Standard is 7.0 Million. This NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; it is not a solicitation or a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on any responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
