Full Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE On behalf of the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital (EHVH), 5000 South 5th Avenue, Hines, IL 60614, the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) for transplant listing services. The purpose of this Special Notice is to post the Government s intent to sole source to UNOS. This acquisition is conducted under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. As this is a sole source procurement with the only national agency that governs solid organ transplantation waiting lists in the United States. The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is a non-profit, scientific and educational organization that administers the only Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) in the United States, established (42 U.S.C. 274) by the U.S. Congress in 1984. UNOS is the current contractor for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The performance period will be August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2026.
