The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Healthcare System is planning to procure certification services for MD Consult, a healthcare and medical information resource, exclusively from Elsevier Inc. This procurement is a sole source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1, reflecting that Elsevier is the only known provider capable of fulfilling the agency’s specific requirements. The service will support the VA Medical Center Library in Gainesville, FL, offering access to trusted clinical resources that aid physicians in clinical decision-making, patient education, and access to authoritative medical references including books and journals. Interested vendors that believe they can meet the requirements must provide evidence of capability in writing by a specific deadline, though the Government retains the discretion not to open the procurement to competition. Any vendor responses will be evaluated, but if none are received, negotiations with Elsevier will proceed.
