The Defense Contracting Command-Washington intends to award a sole source, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to Concurrent Technologies Corporation for the Mobile PEPS Deployment and Validation Program. This initiative, supporting the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army Installations and Environment, leverages the specific technical and management expertise of CTC to complement Enersol Technology, the rights holder of the PEPS system. The project will span approximately 18 months and focuses on deployment testing to evaluate the reliability, maintainability, and overall effectiveness of the Mobile PEPS unit for on-site waste treatment. The scope of work includes demonstration testing to ensure the unit complies with environmental requirements for air emissions and waste disposal, as well as verifying Destruction and Removal Efficiencies and Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure results for vitrified residual slag. By testing the system on Department of Defense and commercial wastes, the program aims to validate the utility and economics of the technology for future government and private sector applications. While this is a sole source intent, interested firms were invited to submit capabilities statements by March 31, 2003, with an anticipated award date of April 7, 2003.
