The Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Southwest Division Office at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, intends to negotiate solely with EASTEK for a three-week extension of two Firm-Fixed-Price Task Orders under the BASS III contract. This contract provides essential non-personal, technical, and administrative support services including office administration, mail receipt and distribution, security administration, supply functions, and facility coordination for the US Army Communications Security Logistics Activity (USACSLA) and the US Army Information Systems Engineering Command (USAISEC). The original BASS III contract, competitively awarded in 2006, has reached the end of its period of performance on August 10, 2011, with all option years exercised. Due to timing constraints related to the upcoming Ability 1 program follow-on contract, which cannot be awarded before August 15, 2011, the extension is necessary to prevent any interruption or reduction in service quality. USAISEC supports systems engineering and integration for Army information systems, while USACSLA provides worldwide logistical support for INFOSEC, COMSEC, IA, and biometrics missions, with strict security clearance requirements at their facilities. The contractor will continue to support both commands in the specified task areas during the extension period. Although EASTEK is the intended sole source for this extension, the government seeks any clear and convincing evidence that competition would benefit them, requesting capabilities, pricing, and other pertinent information from interested parties by August 4, 2011. Responses will be used to assess alternative sources but do not constitute a formal solicitation, and no contract will be awarded solely based on submissions received. The government reserves the right to accept or reject any input and is not obligated to respond to feedback.
