The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract to the Cambodian National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control (CNM), based in Cambodia, on a sole source basis. This contract supports the US Army Medical Component and the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences by conducting scientific research and clinical trials focused on antimalarial chemoprophylaxis. CNM is uniquely qualified due to its extensive historical technical knowledge of vector-borne diseases, particularly malaria, making it the only known source in Cambodia capable of fulfilling these specific requirements. This procurement will proceed under other than full and open competition procedures, as authorized by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, recognizing that no other responsible source can meet the agency’s needs. This notice is not a solicitation for competitive quotes; however, the government is open to receiving written evidence within fifteen days indicating that another source can meet the requirements and that competitive procurement would be beneficial. If no such responses are received, the contract will be awarded without further notice. The designated point of contact for this action is Jennifer Jackson.

Solicitation # BPM058949
The Maryland Department of Health, Center for Cancer Prevention and Control, is offering grants through the Maryland Volunteer and Professional Firefighters Innovative Cancer Screening Technologies Program (PHPA 4166/BPM058949). This initiative provides funding to local fire departments, volunteer fire companies, and volunteer fire associations to procure and administer innovative cancer screening tests, such as genetic tests, imaging, or specialized medical procedures, that are not typically covered by insurance or provided during routine physicals. The program is specifically for Maryland-based professional and volunteer firefighters, with a total funding cap of $900,000. The performance period for the grants is scheduled from March 1, 2027, to June 30, 2027. Eligible applicants must submit their proposals via the eMaryland Marketplace Advantage portal by November 20, 2026. Applications are required to be submitted in two separate volumes: a Project Narrative and a Budget Justification. Grantees are expected to assemble a local healthcare team to oversee the screening process and prioritize firefighters at the highest risk for cancer. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis, and awards will be distributed pro rata based on a weighted evaluation of the identification of screening tests, the project implementation plan, the healthcare team, and the prioritization of participants. Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and various federal regulations, including the Single Audit Act for those expending over $750,000 in federal assistance, is required.
