The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) plans to award a bridge contract to BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services, Inc. to provide ongoing professional and engineering support services for Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems 5 (PEO IWS 5). This contract, under a cost plus incentive fee structure, will focus on four primary support areas: Integrated Logistics & Acquisition, Budget & Financial, Operations & Administration, and Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance. In addition to these areas, it includes provisions for non-separately priced data and other direct costs, which will be covered on a cost-only basis. The work performed under this bridge contract will eventually transition to four separate competitively awarded SeaPort-e task orders, ensuring continuity of essential services until those new contracts are in place. The contract is structured with a six-month base period and six additional three-month option periods, with an anticipated award date in late October 2013, after which BAE Systems is expected to commence work immediately. BAE Systems is currently the only source capable of providing uninterrupted support without impacting PEO IWS 5 operations. The transition plan details specific task orders for each support category, with solicitations identified for each. All personnel assigned to the contract must possess secret security clearances, and subcontracting inquiries should be directed to BAE Systems. This contract supersedes earlier notices issued in April 2013. The place of performance is Washington, DC, with inquiries managed through NAVSEA contacts.
