The Defense Contracting Command-Washington on behalf of Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Director of Net Assessment intends to award a Sole Source (IAW FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source) contract for Studies Analyses and Evaluations to Dr. Bates Gill, 26195 Prescott Road, Clarksburg, MD 20871-9162. The contract is for a study entitled, ââFuture Demography of China: The Impact of a Potential AIDS Epidemicâ?. The study will investigate the impact of a potential AIDS epide mic and the future demography of China as a result of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. Through extensive data collection, including interviews with experts in China, literature review of both Chinese and English language materials and careful analysis, Dr. Bates Gill will investigate epidemiological, behavioral and statistical data, coupled with analysis of political factors and an assessment of the apparent effectiveness of the government response to disease prevention.
