The VA Network 22 Logistic Office intends to negotiate sole source procurement in accordance with Far Part 13 with the University of New Mexico Education Center under authority of Far 6.302-1. The RFQ number is VA-262-08-RQ-0426MG and the NAICS code is 611310. This procurement is for training of geriatric medicine and topics in psychiatry neurology and pharmacology for older adults. The course consists of experts that will teach demographic characteristics and health status of older rural dwelling patients, geriatric assessments in rural settings, practicalities in delivering healthcare in rural areas with limited health and human service resources, and engaging family and community in care-giving activities, the structure of rural healthcare delivery systems and how that impacts care for older patients with multiple complex health care conditions. This is the only intensive course that is compatible with the current VA system.
