The Naval Air Systems Command plans to issue a sole-source cost-plus-fixed-fee order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-11-G-0001 with The Boeing Company for engineering support related to the validation of Engineering Change Proposal ECP-6342. This work will be performed in Australia as part of the Foreign Military Sales program, with the anticipated period of performance around February or March 2012. Boeing, as the original designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft, holds the unique technical expertise and knowledge necessary to execute this effort, justifying the sole-source nature of the acquisition under FAR 6.302-1. No solicitation exists for this procurement as the government intends to negotiate directly with Boeing. The contract is categorized under NAICS code 541330 and is managed by the Naval Air Systems Command office located in Patuxent River, Maryland. While this announcement serves only to notify the public of the planned sole-source acquisition, Boeing is open to subcontracting opportunities, with contacts provided for interested companies. The contracting officer and specialist overseeing this effort can be reached via email and phone for further information. This procurement supports the Royal Australian Air Force Airworthiness Release Directorate Laboratory (RAAF ARDL) through specialized engineering services furnished by Boeing at its Saint Louis, Missouri facility.
