This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 and under the authority of FAR Part 13, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is issued under Request for Quote No. DTFR5315Q00018 and includes incorporated provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-83. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 482112 "Short Line Railroads" with a Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard of 500 employees. CLIN 0001 70 Ton Rail Boxcar CLIN 0002 70 Ton Rail Boxcar Extended description: Boxcar specifications are listed below: Status Code: A-Active Mechanical Designation: XM Box - General Service (preferred). MWM and MWX cars are not acceptable Build Date: After July 1, 1974 Extended Service E - 50 year service. Car must have at least a 10 year service life remaining from the date of this procurement. Gross Rail Load/Weight: 220,000 lb - minimum Plate Code: B Truck Count: 2 Axle Count: 4 Wheel Bearing Type: R - Roller Brake Shoe Type: H- High Friction Composite Body Material: 19 - Standard Steel Floor Material: Steel (preferred) Lining Material: 17 - sheet metal (preferred) Inspection Dates: All must be current Restrictions: None Inspection Car Grade: Grade A Journal Size: E - 6x11, or F - 6-1/2X12 (preferred) Wheel Diameter: 33 inches (minimum) Coupler Type: Type E or F, non-rotary, Obsolete coupler types are not acceptable Draft Gear Type: E, H, or S.
