AI Contract Overview
The contract outlines the reconfiguration of the locker room hangar at AIRSTA Traverse City in Michigan to better accommodate male and female personnel by creating separate and dedicated facilities. This includes the installation of small restrooms for each gender, the conversion of the existing battery storage room into a general storage area, and the establishment of a distinct zone for hanging wet personal protective equipment with integrated dehumidification to manage moisture. All existing peeling paint on ductwork within the renovation zone will be removed, and the building’s HVAC system will be modified to support the new layout and spatial demands. Plumbing will be upgraded with new fixtures connected directly to the existing domestic water and sanitary mains, while the current lighting will be replaced with new luminaires designed for the updated space. Additional convenience electrical receptacles will be installed, and the existing fire alarm and public address systems will be reconfigured to align with the redesigned floor plan. The scope also requires the replacement of six electrical panels and transformers to ensure reliable power distribution throughout the renovated area. All work is being conducted under the United States Coast Guard, part of the Department of Homeland Security, with Robert Spangler as the primary point of contact for inquiries and coordination.
