The contract entails a comprehensive reconfiguration of the locker room hangar at AIRSTA Traverse City in Michigan to better accommodate male and female personnel by creating dedicated, separate restroom facilities for each gender. The existing battery storage room will be repurposed into a general storage space, while a new designated area for hanging wet personal protective equipment will be established with integrated dehumidification to manage moisture. All peeling paint on the existing ductwork within the renovation zone will be removed, and the current HVAC system will be modified to support the updated layout and increased operational demands. New plumbing fixtures will be connected to the site’s existing domestic water and sanitary lines, ensuring compliance with infrastructure standards. The project includes replacing the existing lighting with modern luminaires to match the new room configuration, installing additional convenience electrical receptacles, and reconfiguring the fire alarm and public address systems to align with the redesigned space. A significant component of the work involves replacing six electrical panels and associated transformers to enhance system reliability and capacity. All work must be performed in accordance with safety and functionality requirements, with the United States Coast Guard as the overseeing agency under the Department of Homeland Security, and Robert Spangler designated as the primary point of contact for all project inquiries and coordination.
