This contract pertains to a recovery effort under the existing contract number W15P7T-10-C-B010 with Adaptive Materials, Inc. It is issued by the Department of Defense, specifically through the W6QK Acc-apg office located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The contract is structured as a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) type, which has been determined to be the most suitable due to the developmental nature of the work and the uncertainties in performance costs that preclude the use of a fixed-price contract. This notice is provided solely for informational purposes and is limited to contractors currently holding the referenced contract. The justification for this contract type aligns with FAR regulations (16.103(d), 16.301, and 16.306(b) and (c)), emphasizing the need for flexibility in cost reimbursement given the project’s developmental scope. No set-aside designation or specific NAICS code is indicated, and the solicitation was posted in December 2010. The contract's point of performance is not explicitly defined, reflecting the nature of the work’s uncertainty and possible multiple performance locations. Overall, this contract facilitates a development effort with cost reimbursement safeguards under the Department of Defense framework.
