The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland District issued Modification 2 to contract W9127N09C0027 regarding the Sheepy Lake Waterfowl Nesting Habitat project. This modification addresses several critical adjustments to the original scope of work, including providing compensation for standby costs resulting from the identification of an archeological site. To mitigate the impact of this discovery, the contract now includes the development of an alternate access road to bypass the site and the relocation of the gate to this new road. Further technical changes involve the deletion of a previously planned ditch crossing and the updated use of 280 cubic yards of three inch open rock to plug the ditch near the launch area instead of the originally specified rock reject. This award notice, posted on March 17, 2010, was restricted to contractors already under the existing contract and falls under NAICS code 237990.
