This sole-source combined synopsis and solicitation, RFQ N42158-16-T-N017, is issued by the Norfolk Naval Shipyard under the Department of Defense for the rental of one 1000 KW diesel generator to provide backup power for the USS Albany. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to Veteran First Energy, LLC, utilizing NAICS code 532490. The period of performance is established from August 25, 2016, through August 24, 2017. The requirement specifically calls for a Caterpillar Model JHC-APS1000 generator that meets all NAVSEA and OSHA safety standards. While the government intends to negotiate with Veteran First Energy, LLC, it will consider other capable responses provided by registered SAM entities before the closing date.
