Repair of Pines NC-75 tube bending system

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Ajax Tocco Magnethermic Corporation (dba Pines Engineering), 29100 Lakeland Blvd, Wickliffe, OH, 44092, (Cage Code: 74QK6) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for the OEM to provide on-site repair of the Y and B axis electro-mechanical positioning servo drives on the Pines NC-75 tube bending system. Market research has determined that Pines Engineering is the only source capable of providing the required software as they maintain all data rights to their equipment and software. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Pines Engineering. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
