THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. THIS NOTICE IS ISSUED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. A SYNOPIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION MAY BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE WHICH WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDDERS TO RESPOND TO THIS OPPORTUNITY. Please only respond to this sources sought notice if you are interested in submitting a bid and capable of performing the work required to complete the project. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates the need for a firm-fixed-price contract for a project entitled Repair Storm/Sanitary Lines at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Milan. USP Marion is located at 4500 Prison Road, Marion, IL 62959. The following brief synopsis should not be considered inclusive of work required to complete the project. The project consists of repairing/re-lining approximately 2614 linear feet of damaged concrete and vitrified clay storm and sanitary sewer piing surrounding the USP utilizing the curing in place pipe technology/spiral would reline technology. The existing storm/sanitary sewer pipe is fifty plus years old and is failing creating small and large sink holes. Each section of pipe is accessible for repairs via manholes. The performance period for the project will be 180 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $250,000 and $500,000. (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.) The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 237110 with a corresponding small business size standard of $36.5 million. Interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. The BOP is seeking small business contractors for this project.
