Full Description
1. WORK INCLUDED: Major items of work shall include the following: 1.1 Remove the existing metal fascia and wood blocking at roof edges. 1.2 Remove existing single ply EPDM roof system including roof membrane, roof flashings, roof insulation and roof edge to expose the existing concrete roof deck. The existing flat portion of the roof is constructed with tapered insulation sloping to roof drains. 1.3 All existing roof top equipment is scheduled to remain. All existing roof penetrations are scheduled to remain. 1.4 The contractor shall provide temporary heating or cooling to allow for the maintenance of 68 degrees F heat minimum with existing or temporary heating equipment or 78 degrees F maximum with existing or temporary cooling equipment. 1.5 Install new Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) roof system including new tapered roof insulation, multiple ply roof membrane with ½” gypsum cover board, associated roof flashings including various base and pipe penetration configurations. Existing roof drains shall be in sump pans. 1.6 Provide and install new curbs at roof top HVAC units to accommodate new roofing thickness. Secure split-system air conditioners to new roof. Disconnect, remove, store, and protect the existing exhaust fans during re-roofing operations, then re-install to the original condition on a new curb. No electrical, mechanical, or controls work outside of disconnection and reconnection is called for. 1.7 Install new wood parapet wall at roof edge to accommodate new roofing thickness and install new metal fascia. Install scuppers at Admin/Barracks roof and Galley roof. 1.8 Install new overflow drains (4 locations) and 5” cast iron piping under the roof structure down to outlet at 36” above grade. 1.9 Work associated with these items are described in the following specification sections and/or are shown on the contract drawings. Incidental work items not listed above and necessary for completing the project shall be included.
