Replace Damaged Slab on I-15

Caltrans District 11 is initiating a Slab Replacement Project to address damaged and moving concrete slabs on Southbound I-15 near Via Rancho Parkway, PM 27.1, located in Escondido, San Diego County. The scope of work involves the removal and replacement of these slabs within the existing alignment, adhering strictly to Caltrans standards. Required equipment for the execution of this work includes a track loader and an excavator equipped with a hydraulic breaker or hammer. The project is identified by EA 11-3A995 and PID 1126000012. From an environmental standpoint, the project has been granted a CEQA statutory and categorical exemption under Class 1 and a NEPA categorical exclusion, as it is determined to have no significant environmental impacts and involves no expansion of use. All work must comply with the Environmental Commitments Report. Project management is led by Xiaoqing Jaber, with Petra Samira El Shammas serving as the lead agency environmental scientist and primary point of contact.
