Replace/Repair the Subflooring and Components in the White Borroughs Aisle Saver High Density (HD) Shelving Systems

Notice of Intent to Sole Source FDA- SOL-2014-1131319 Notice of Intent to Sole Source - National Office System Inc. The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Sole Source firm-fixed price purchase order to National Office System Inc., located at 7621 Rickenbacker Drive, Suite 400, Gaithersburg MD 20879-4788, USA. In accordance with FAR part 6.302-1, there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to replace/repair the subflooring and components in the White Borroughs Aisle Saver high density (HD) shelving systems at CDER Ammendale Document Center located at 5901 Ammendale Road, Beltsville, MD 20705, utilizing new and existing materials. The Borroughs Aisle Saver document storage system is manufactured by Borroughs Corporation Inc. National Office Systems, Inc., is the only authorized Aisle-Saver Dealer in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. The vendor and its authorized resellers are the only equipment providers, installers and servicers of the Aisle Saver product. To provide a warranty on the installed equipment and maintain the integrity of the service maintenance contract currently in place, it is essential that an authorized Borrough's representative make the required changes to the current system. Due to the reasons noted above, no other manufacturer/vendor is able to guarantee the warranty on this system. As indicated on the official Borroughs Corporation website, National Office Systems (NOS) is the authorized Washington/Baltimore area Borroughs Corporation representative. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is-238390 Other Building Finishing Contractors. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any party that believes it is capable of meeting this requirement as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to perform the requirement. Capability statements must be received by the response date and time of this notice. Submissions will be reviewed to determine if they can meet the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that an award will be issued to National Office System Inc., within approximately fifteen (15) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that any other organization has the capacity to meet this requirement.
