The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Charleston, Navigation Systems Program Office, is seeking information from vendors regarding alternate rodmeters compatible with existing US Navy electromagnetic log (EM LOG) speed systems, specifically the Mk 4, Mk 6, and AN/WSN-8 DEML models. This request supports the Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) Program and aims to identify modern rodmeter designs utilizing advanced materials and electronics. Preferred designs include shark fin or flush mount shapes rather than traditional linear forms that range from 24 inches to 100 inches. The information collected will help in planning potential future assessments and is intended solely for market research, not as a solicitation for proposals or contract award. Vendors are asked to provide specific details including company information, manufacturer or distributor status, product descriptions, reliability and environmental performance data, cost factors, and examples of military or commercial ship applications. Submitted information will become public and may be summarized or published within FCT program documentation. Responses should be submitted electronically by the specified deadline, with no physical equipment required. The selection of rodmeters for future evaluations will consider technical capabilities and costs. Vendors should not follow up through the FedBizOps agency for feedback but may be contacted directly for more detailed discussions. Questions of a non-technical nature are directed to the designated contract specialist.
