The Department of Defense's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic) is seeking information on commercially available eye-safe binocular laser rangefinders designed for law enforcement and emergency responder use. These devices must measure distances to targets with an accuracy of plus or minus one yard or meter. The objective is to support the Department of Homeland Security’s System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which conducts objective evaluations of equipment to provide validated performance data to the emergency response community. Vendors are invited to submit non-proprietary information by March 25, 2011, including company details, product descriptions, pricing, and related information for these devices. The submissions will inform future assessments and potential procurement but do not constitute a solicitation or request for proposal. Submissions should include a completed product summary questionnaire accessible via SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic's e-commerce website. The information provided will become public and may be incorporated into SAVER documentation, so vendors must avoid submitting proprietary data. The evaluation process will consider factors such as responder surveys and focus group feedback to determine suitability for inclusion in SAVER projects. Vendors may be contacted for additional details after submission, but no contract awards or payments will result directly from this request. Technical questions can be directed to the designated program contact, while administrative inquiries should be sent to the contract specialist.
