The Department of Defense, through the Project Manager Aerial Common Sensors (PM ACS), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather data on mature subsystems, components, and technologies relevant to future Army aerial intelligence systems. This effort aims to support the development of a next-generation aerial reconnaissance and surveillance platform that consolidates multiple intelligence capabilities across various conflict spectrums and user levels. The new system is envisioned to evolve from existing platforms such as the Guardrail Common Sensor and Airborne Reconnaissance Low along with technology insertions, including the integration of unmanned aircraft systems. The RFI seeks detailed information specifically in areas including communications intelligence, electronic intelligence, synthetic aperture radar, electro-optical/infrared sensors, wideband digital data links, mission planning software, system diagnostics, secure data storage and processing, timing and navigation systems, and onboard radio frequency interference cancellation. Responses are requested from all Department of Defense contractors involved in these technologies and require access to a restricted document library, which is granted upon submission of company and contact information along with a brief explanation of relevant capabilities. All proprietary information submitted will be treated confidentially, though responders must acknowledge that non-government personnel supporting PM ACS will have access under strict non-disclosure agreements. This RFI serves solely as an information-gathering exercise and does not constitute a commitment by the government to purchase products or services, nor will any contract awards or payments result directly from responses. Information collected will help assess the availability of commercial or non-developmental items to fulfill the government’s requirements under relevant acquisition policies.
