Request for Proposals- Veterinary Services

Monroe County, Georgia, is soliciting proposals from licensed veterinarians to provide professional veterinary services and oversight for Monroe County Animal Services. The selected contractor will be responsible for managing rabies quarantines, performing weekly rabies vaccinations for animals being released or adopted, and providing authorization and oversight for humane euthanasia. Additionally, the veterinarian will offer professional consultation on animal welfare, disease control, and general health matters to ensure the safe and humane operation of the shelter. The contractor must maintain a valid Georgia veterinary license and all necessary DEA registrations for handling controlled substances. The contract is for an initial term of one year, with the option for two additional one-year renewals. Proposers must submit a comprehensive bid including a proposed monthly fee, a schedule of additional charges for examinations and emergency services, and evidence of relevant shelter experience. Approved medications and medical supplies will be reimbursed at actual documented cost. Proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes by October 23, 2026, and the successful bidder will be required to provide certificates of insurance for general liability and worker's compensation.
