The National Institutes of Health, through the Office of Research Infrastructure Programs, is soliciting R24 grant applications under RFA-OD-25-010 to support the development, characterization, or improvement of research models of human health and diseases. This includes biology-based new approach methodologies and related biological materials. To be eligible, proposed resources must be broadly applicable to the scientific interests of two or more NIH Institutes or Centers and must evaluate diseases and processes that impact multiple organ systems. Projects focusing strictly on a specific disease or a select area of research without broad NIH-wide impact will not be accepted. Clinical trials are not allowed under this funding opportunity. The NIH intends to commit 5,000,000 dollars per fiscal year from 2026 through 2029, with a maximum project duration of four years. Eligible applicants include small businesses, other for-profit organizations, and local, state, or federal government entities, though foreign organizations are not eligible to apply. Applications are evaluated based on scientific and technical merit through a peer review system, focusing on the investigators and the potential for the project to exert a sustained, powerful influence on the research field. Required registrations include an active SAM account with a Unique Entity Identifier, a CAGE or NCAGE code, and eRA Commons and Grants.gov accounts. Submission deadlines occur periodically from January 2026 through September 2028.

Full Description

The Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) encourages grant applications aimed at developing, characterizing, or improving research models of human health and diseases; developing biology based new approach methodologies (NAMs) applicable to human health and diseases; or improving access to information about or generated from the use of models of human disease. The models, including NAMs, and related biological materials developed must be broadly applicable to the scientific interests of two or more NIH Institutes or Centers (ICs) and must evaluate diseases and processes that impact multiple organ systems in order to align with the ORIP"s NIH-wide mission and programs. Applications must describe the need for and the potential impact of the proposed resources on the research community across a range of scientific disciplines supported by multiple NIH ICs. Applications to develop models that relate strictly to a specific disease or a select area of research or that do not have a broad impact on the NIH-wide research community will not be accepted. Projects that predominantly address the research interests of one NIH IC but are only peripherally related to the research interests of other ICs will also not be accepted, if submitted in response to this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO).

Solicitation # W911PT26SC001
The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Watervliet Arsenal (ACC-WVA) has issued solicitation W911PT26SC001, a Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) authorized under the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 and DFARS Subpart 212.70. This competitive solicitation is open until September 30, 2027, and is designed to acquire innovative commercial products, technologies, and services to modernize the Army's Organic Industrial Base. The scope focuses on integrating manufacturing resources, linking legacy analogue systems with digital systems, and expanding modeling and simulation to enhance the delivery of materiel solutions. The CSO targets both traditional and non-traditional business entities, including small businesses and foreign-owned firms, provided they maintain an active System for Award Management (SAM) profile and a Unique Entity ID. The acquisition process follows a multi-phased approach consisting of a written solution brief, an optional presentation or pitch, and a final Request for Commercial Solution Proposal (CSP). Evaluation is based on responsiveness, technical merit, uniqueness, and price reasonableness. Successful responses may result in fixed-price contracts awarded under FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Procedures. Current Areas of Interest (AoIs) include advanced cannon technology, electrical infrastructure improvements at Building 120, chromium facility conversion, automated manufacturing for minor components, automated cooling tower treatments, advanced CNC vertical turning lathes, and advanced tooling for radial forging. Performance is primarily located at Watervliet Arsenal and Benet Laboratories, with a general period of performance not to exceed 12 months unless otherwise specified.
