Starting the week of January 5, 2009, SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic will conduct a direction-finding (DF) comparison test event to evaluate the performance of various small DF systems. The event invites participation from any commercial-off-the-shelf DF system that meets the specified system requirements outlined in the attached documentation available through SPAWAR's procurement portal. Testing will take place at a local test site operated by SPAWAR Atlantic, with the DF systems run using the participant's interface software. It is preferable that company engineers be present to support the testing process, providing technical assistance and addressing questions during the evaluation. The performance assessment will follow a pre-developed test plan, which SPAWAR will share with participants ahead of the event. Interested parties must coordinate with Mr. James Tanton to arrange suitable dates and locations for testing. For contract-related inquiries, Ms. Deborah McNeely is the designated contact. This initiative aims to facilitate the comparison and validation of advanced DF system capabilities under controlled conditions, supporting the Department of Defense's ongoing technology evaluation efforts. The solicitation was posted in October 2008 by the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, located in North Charleston, SC.
