The City of Waco has issued this solicitation for the maintenance service of approximately 740 fire hydrants within the noted section of the City of Waco. This is approximately one-eighth (1/8) of the City's inventory of fire hydrants. The service is to include, but not limited to, exercising the fire hydrants, conducting pressure tests, greasing various hydrant parts and conducting minor hydrant repairs to be tracked through an online dashboard. In addition, thecontractor shall immediately report non-working or irregularly operating fire hydrants and hydrant valves to the City of Waco. At this point, said fire hydrants shall be evaluated for repair or replacement and said fire hydrant shall be repaired or replaced according to the City of Waco's instructions. Work may be performed Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, fuel, and backfill material.• General Contractor shall self-perform 60% of this project.• The following design and construction criteria referenced in this document are promulgated by City of Waco Staff to support the implementation of the policy adopted by City Council.• The City of Waco will provide access to the plant for the contractor. Work shall be completed 365 calendar days after Notice to Proceed is issued via email or other communication method.• The Contractor agrees to employ only orderly, competent, and knowledgeable workers, skillful in performance of the type of work required under this contract. The contractor will ensure that their personnel and vehicles/equipment are clearly marked with the company logo or other marking to identify who they work for.• Detailed specifications are attached as Appendices.• A digital version of this document can be obtained from the City of Waco's Bonfire portal at waco-texas.bonfirehub.com/login or the City of Waco Website at waco-texas.com/bids.• The contract period will run with the City’s fiscal year from October 1st to the subsequent September 30th, with 2 optional 1-year renewals.
