(Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. The contract involves the collection, transportation, laundering, and return delivery of approximately 950,556 pounds of soiled medical linens annually. The performance period begins with a base year from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027, and includes four optional one-year extensions through September 30, 2031. Contractors must consistently deliver and collect uniforms between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, arriving at least one hour before facility closing, excluding state holidays. Each employee may receive up to eleven properly fitted uniforms, and contractors are responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing defective items at no additional cost to the state. Contractors must comply with stringent regulatory, safety, and ethical standards, including adherence to OSHA and ADA guidelines, the Drug-Free Workplace Act, and prohibitions against human trafficking and vaccine passport requirements. All personnel must adhere to strict dress codes prohibiting athletic wear, shorts, flip-flops, and offensive clothing. Insurance requirements include $1,000,000 in business automobile liability coverage with waiver of subrogation to TFC for auto, general liability, workers’ compensation, and umbrella policies.
