RFPC- 25-28 Ice Machine Services, Cleaning, Repairs and Preventative Maintenance

The Houston Community College System (HCC) is inviting proposals from qualified contractors to provide comprehensive inspection, cleaning, repairs, and preventative maintenance services for ice machines at various HCC campuses. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the ice machines are maintained at a first-class service standard and in compliance with state and federal regulations. The contract outlines quarterly service duties, which encompass a range of tasks including disassembling the machines, removing mold and mineral deposits, sanitizing ice bins, and checking compressor amp draw and supply voltage, among other critical maintenance activities. Contractors are expected to have the requisite licenses, tools, equipment, materials, and insurance to perform these tasks efficiently. The proposed contract is structured for an initial term of one year, with the possibility of four additional one-year renewals. HCC may also extend the contract on a month-to-month basis for up to three months beyond any term. Work is to be carried out at several locations within the HCC network, including campuses in Houston, Katy, Spring Branch, and surrounding areas. The value of the contract is estimated to range between $50,000 and $200,000. Contractors are required to coordinate service dates with HCC personnel and maintain precise records of all maintenance activities. HCC reserves the right to distribute the contract among multiple vendors if required.
