RFT Hastings Stadium Lighting Retrofit

The City of Guelph is soliciting tenders for the supply and installation of an energy-efficient LED lighting solution at the Hastings Field baseball diamond. The scope of work includes the installation of poles, sports field lights, a control post, and all associated electrical infrastructure, including new electrical service, conduit, and wiring. All work must be performed according to specifications prepared by MJS Consultants and must adhere to NCAA lighting standards and the recommended practices of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America RP-6-24. The project is scheduled to be executed between October 30, 2026, and March 31, 2027, to ensure completion before the start of the 2027 season. Contractors must be licensed electricians and comply with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, CSA standards, and the National Building Code. A key requirement is adherence to the Buy Ontario Act, requiring a Domestic Supply Chain Plan that meets or exceeds a 51 percent threshold of Ontario or Canadian-made goods and services. The City requires a performance security bond equal to 50 percent of the total contract price, which must remain in effect through the warranty period. Payment for undisputed invoices will be made within 28 days of receipt, and the contractor is required to provide monthly status reports detailing progress, quality control deviations, and infraction reports. Tenders must be submitted electronically by October 15, 2026.
