The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to award a firm, fixed-price contract to Flow-Technics, Inc. for the inspection and repair of three specialized 48 inch submersible pumps at the Rice Lake pump station in Banner, Illinois. These pumps became inoperable after electrical power and control cable connections were inundated during a high water event. Because the equipment is still under a manufacturer warranty, the government is pursuing a sole source procurement to ensure repairs are performed by an authorized service center to maintain warranty coverage. The scope of work requires the contractor to disassemble, evaluate, and test the pumps, providing a detailed inspection report for government approval before proceeding with repairs. The project includes replacing electrical power and control cables for each pump and providing a manufacturer-authorized engineer for installation and startup. This procurement falls under NAICS code 811310 and is being conducted under the authority that only one responsible source can satisfy the agency requirements.
